An RSPB worker looks for embers of fires on an area of moorland, following a large blaze the previous evening at Dovestone Reservoir in Saddleworth, close to Oldham in Greater Manchester on 23 April 2021. United Utilities and the RSPB work in partnership to manage the area, which is prone to fires annually, particularly during dry weather, with visitors lighting barbecues as well as deliberate starting of fires, creating a huge problem for the Fire Service.
