A freight train makes its way along the Hope Valley line close to the hamlet of Barber Booth, near Buxton in the Peak Distict, Derbyshire on 25 March 2021. The UK government has announced a £137 million investment in upgrading the line between Manchester and Sheffield. Andrew Stephenson MP, Minister of State for Transport announced that the government was "commited to levelling up rail infrastructure across the north.
